HASBRO PULSE MONITOR: A NEW PRODUCT?

The Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 occured on friday and saturday, and there were many awesome action figures reveals. Mighty Morphing Power Rangers monsters, Ghostbusters proton packs, more G.I.Joe characters, X-Men the animated series figures and Weezer playing songs made us wonder for a second “Wait, what year is this?”, but overall it was a great event! We had a watch-along with some friends in the community and had a good time. Another event is scheduled on 10/27, but only for Pulse premium members.

ToyFarce heard from an anonymous source (don’t worry, Robert G., you secret is safe with me!) that Hasbro might reveal a new product during that event: the Hasbro Pulse Monitor!

The Hasbro Pulse Monitor will be a wearable device that syncs to your Hasbro Pulse app, with several never-before-seen features, such as:

- Reminders to not miss any items when they ‘drop’, or to remind you to ‘FOMO’ on Haslab projects.

- Checking your heartrate/body temperature after you miss a pre-order to evaluate if you need to get help to cope with it. A therapist will be available at all time in the app.

- Spousal alerts*, to warn your significant other if you spent more than expected. If you heart rate rises up when placing your orders, an automatic notification will be sent. (* This feature can be disabled at any moment).

- Alexa enabled, to automatically order tissues and play comforting music if you miss out on something. Just say “Alexa, I missed a pre-order” and we’ll take care of the rest.

No info on how the device will look like yet. Release date not communicated yet.

Last week, an ex-student from a fashion/design school from New York, working for PWM industry (@playing_with_myself) revealed during an appearance in @highschoolcreations ‘Diorama Talk’ live show that JNCO were planning to make a comeback. It was mentioned that due to the size of the Haslab Sentinel, people might need bigger pockets if they want to have their Sentinel as a pocket fig, and JNCO heard that call. The first part is not even a joke: JNCO are really trying to reintroduce themselves to the world, and want us to shop “groundbreaking wide-leg denim and streetwear that’s unapologetically you”.

This is an actual Facebook ad. This is not a drill.

“Collectible items”. Damn, they really know how to make us want those, right? They’re collectibles!

This is an actual tweet from 2019, so it looks like it’s not their first attempt at a comeback…

LOOK AT THOSE SEX-HAVERS!

Thanks to the cheer size of those pants and pockets, you can now bring your Sentinel along anywhere you go as a pocket fig, whether it is at home, in a park, at work (provided you still have a job after they saw you wear those pants), etc…

MUTANT FIGURES FEELING A BIT UNEASY SINCE ARRIVAL OF THE HASLAB SENTINEL!

“There goes the neighborhood” said C. Xavier, a resident from your collection.

The Sentinels are starting to pop up in some collections, and there has been some unrest among the mutant action figures community. ToyFarce interviewed a few representatives of the X-Men about the situation.

You could cut the tension with an adamantium claw…

“We had a great thing going on here”, said Iceman, a long time resident of the mutant shelf. “People had entire shelves dedicated to mutants, with kick-ass displays, and we could really shine. We knew that things might change when they first announced the Haslab Sentinel, but we didn’t know how much it would change.”

Maverick told ToyFarce “We had the best of times. We had our own shelves, but now we’ll have to share it with one of *those*… We’ve seen people displaying the Sentinel fighting mutants on their displays, so now, I guess we’ll have to be in fighting poses, after years of being displayed all together… It’s just not the same… We might have to move to another shelf. Maybe the Avengers one?”

Don’t be fooled by the depressed look on that puppy, he’s actually very ecstatic about getting to live inside a Haslab Sentinel box!

The other cats from your neighborhood will be 100% jealous when they see your cat’s fort!

SOMETHING FOR THE KIDS!

Turn your Haslab Sentinel box into a wonderful speedy car! All you have to do is count on your kid’s imagination, and he’ll be racing in his brand new car in no time!

A car? How about an entire summer cottage? If you ordered more than one Sentinel, you can build an entire playhouse, which your kids will absolutely love!

FOR A PERSON!

Do you have annoying friends? Just put them in the box and ship them somewhere far, so you don’t have to deal with their crappy personality anymore!

Help the ones in need! Donate your Haslab Sentinel box to a homeless person so that they can feel like they live in a penthouse. You’ll feel good about doing something nice! (Also works for yourself, if your wife kicked you out after your 5 Sentinels arrived)

If you have more than 5 Haslab Sentinels, you can even build a small apartment, and rent it, to make that Haslab money back!

Last year, a few days after the last Star Wars Haslab campaign for the TVC Razor Crest ship ended, the ship was completely and utterly DESTROYED in the Mandalorian TV series. They say lightning never strikes twice at the same time, right? Well…

ToyFarce received the anonymous tip that in an upcoming coming book from Marvel Comics, supposed to come out this wednesday, Galactus will be randomly completely and utterly DESTROYED in a similar way. First we will see Galactus just standing in a big field next to some rocks, and an orange/pink laser will come out from the corner of the frame, and obliterate the Devourer of Worlds.

It is a good thing that the Rancor already met his demise in the Return of the Jedi (Spoilers!), but we would advise any remaining Rancors NOT to hang out in a big field next to some rocks when the next Haslab Star Wars campaign will be ending… We’ve been fooled twice already!

HASLAB GALACTUS STRETCH GOAL LEAKED?!

It’s Comic Con week and our collective wallets have been tombstone piledrived into oblivion, as all our favorite brands announced, revealed and released some awesome toys. One of last week’s biggest reveals (litteraly!) was the new HasLab project, Galactus, towering at 32 inches tall. The project needs 14,000 backers to be fully funded and is now closing in on 8700 backers (at time of writing). The HasLab project will end on August 30th.

Once the project is fully funded, the Marvel Legends team announced that there will, of course, be stretch goals. What could they be? A disgruntled employee sent ToyFarce the scoop! (How do all those disgruntled employees keep getting our email address??)

Once the project is fully funded, Galactus will get his bib to be able to devour planet without making a mess on his suit.

Revealed by @thegreattonino , some of the other stretch goals will be 6” figures. Can you guess who?

16,000 backers: Keep the good habits with the Intergalactic hand sanitizer! It would be a shame to catch a nasty virus from one of those planets…

18,000 backers: The Planet Menu. “I’m famished! What am I going to eat today?”

20,000 backers: The Galactus Planet Smasher Trumpet! (Running gag, had to.)

22,000 backers: After eating a planet, it’s important to do the dishes!

25,000 backers: Galactus gets his nightgown and hat, for a better, deeper slumber.

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THE HASBRO PULSE FAN FEST PREMIUM MEMBER PARTY!

Yesterday, on April 8th 2021, Hasbro Pulse held their first Premium member party, ahead of the Hasbro Fan Fest that will happen today (April 9th). Apparently, someone had left the door open, and the live stream was also available for non-premium members at some point. Here is what we learned during this live event!

STEVE EVANS IS AN AMAZING HUMAN BEING

Natural-born entertainer? Yes. British accent? Yes. Dad jokes? Heck yes! On top of having a very fun instagram account to follow (@mrstevie18), along with his “Mr Stevie’s Tall Toy Tales” show and his multiple giveaways, Steve was the host of the event. What could have looked like a boring ‘Apple iPhone reveal’ event ended up being very entertaining, and it’s all thanks to Steve. (Special shout out to his new friend, “Chad”! The people who know know.). Also, I will always use the word ‘drinkiepoo’ from now on.

TOYS REVEALS!

Not a lot of things were revealed yesterday, since the real big event is today. Only a couple of announcements: Marvel Legends Domino and Cannonball figures (with half of the internet saying it will be a two-pack, and the other half saying it will not). Also, there will be a fan-vote for the Star Wars: The Vintage Collection figures line, which will be between Clone Wars Ahsoka, Old Republic Trooper, Rogue One Tank Trooper, Extended Universe (Force Unleashed) Starkiller and ROTJ Weequay.

CARPET/TOWEL BACKGROUND DIORAMA COMING SOON FOR G.I.JOE CLASSIFIED SERIES?

You can be a very talented professional photographer for Hasbro (they pay him!), using nice lighting and intricate dioramas for the background of your pictures, and still have what looks like a towel or a carpet as a background for yourself! Carpet/towel diorama coming soon? All jokes aside, Cory was very interesting. We learned how he gets inspiration from the stories of the characters to make awesome pictures.

THE HASLAB SENTINEL CAN GO FULL-JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME!

The Marvel Legends team provided some updates on the Haslab Sentinel, which is a thing of beauty, and even gave one away to a lucky winner! During the update part, they’ve shown us the range of articulations, and it looks like your Sentinel can do the split (as long as you apologize for holding him by the crotch)! That’s super cool! Oh yeah, the guy from the Black Eyed Peas was there too.

THE CYBERTRON SPREE IS YOUR NEW FAVORITE BAND

At the end of the party, we enjoyed some music (what’s a party without music?), and for a lot of us, it was a first introduction to a band called ‘The Cybertronic Spree’, which is totally awesome. According to their own website: “These rockstars in disguise play music from The Transformers: The Movie, hit film and anime songs, and video game covers”, while rocking Transformers costume the entire time. Amazing!

AND FINALLY: THE CHAT WAS PURE 100% TOXIC ASS-JUICE

Wow. That was bad. Before the event even started, people were already in the chat being a**holes, insulting Hasbro and each other. When the event started, it was even worse. Kudos to Hasbro for closing that sh*t down really fast. The event was much more enjoyable without the “fans” crapping on the event, pretending to be other people (several Unparalleled Universe spotted!), trying to highjack it, and making it about themselves. It’s moments like this that make you ashamed to be a toy collector and be part of that crowd... In the future, maybe we could have the accounts linked to the event, so that the people responsible can be accountable and get their premium membership revoked or something? Anyway…

COULD THE SARLACC PIT BE THE NEXT HASLAB PROJECT?

It’s time to put our sunglasses on and go dune-surfing on Tatooine!

The folks at HasLab have been pretty quiet since the successful end of the Razor Crest crowdfunding project, so it is time for us to speculate on what’s coming next!

They have already released the gorgeous (and huge!) Jabba’s Sail Barge through HasLab, so it would make total sense that the next project could be a scaled Sarlacc Pit to display next to it!

“In his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, as you are slowly digested over a thousand years.”

Did that quote ever bother anyone else? I mean, you probably die of starvation or dehydration way before that, right? Or does it keep you fed and alive the whole time? Sounds like a lot of work. Anyway…

The last time the Sarlacc Pit came out in toy form was in 2008, as part of a Battle Pack called ‘Battle at the Sarlacc Pit’ (ingenious, huh?), from the Legacy Collection line, so it is long overdue!

*do not make any sex toy joke… do not make any sex toy joke…*

ToyFarce can already imagine what the different rewards unlocked after reaching each goals could be!

UNLOCK 1: SAND!

Bags of sand provided, so your diorama can even look more realistic! Authentic sand from Tatooine (Tunisia/Yuma)!

UNLOCK 2: A BOBA FETT “SNACK” FOR YOUR SARLACC

It goes without saying that the Sarlacc might be hungry after travelling to your home, so it’s nice to know that it would come up with a snack!

UNLOCK 3: ANATOMY POSTER!

For the people who always wondered what a full Sarlacc looks like but never dared to look: We got you covered!

UNLOCK 4: THE FULL GODDAMN THING!

If the project reaches a certain amount, HasLab should go ahead and just do the entire Sarlacc, instead of just stopping at the mouth. You already have bags of sand from the 1st unlock, so you can bury most of it in it, and you will know that the entire thing is there. Look at it, it’s so cute!! I wish I had a Sarlacc plushie…

Will they ever make it ? Well, we don’t know. The closest thing that is available for us is a series of stickers/decals that can be installed in your toilet bowl, but the things falling in it are completely different than a Boba Fett figure… (Also, we do not advise dumping a Boba Fett figure in there!).

We’ll see what the future holds for us in HasLab as soon as they have an idea. Oh, and to HasLab: I am available for consulting if you need more ideas!
